Rules: FAQ

General

Rusticle is a friendly server, however, Rust is not a friendly game. Whilst it is understandable that players will get frustrated, there needs to be a level of maturity so the server doesn't become toxic.

Griefing by deliberately harassing other players in the game is not accepted. Players will be first warned about their behaviour and then kicked or banned from the server.

Swearing is allowed in the global chat, but please try to be reasonable and don't use personal insults towards other players.

Racism, homophobia, hate speech, sexism, or any other kind of discrimination will not be tolerated. Players may be banned at admin's discretion for breaking this rule. This applies to any form of in-game communication.

We are a low pop solo server, and as such have a lot of players that are new to the game. Please make them feel welcome and try to be helpful. We all had to start somewhere!

Teaming/Alliances

Rusticle is a solo only server, this means no teaming or alliances. This applies to general play, PVP, raiding, looting monuments and playing events. Friendly neighbours are allowed, however, this should extend to an agreement not to attack or raid each other and nothing more.

The rules around events, monuments and raiding are in place as it is difficult to enforce rules that allow teaming in those situations. For example, if you were to do the oil rig as a team of 2, and another player then counters, you have a 2v1 PVP situation which is against the nature of the server.

The solo rules are strict, anyone caught breaking this rule will be banned from the server. There are no exceptions.

Cheating and Player Reporting

Hacking, using game exploits, or mods such as recoil suppression or aimbots are strictly prohibited on the server. There is a zero-tolerance policy on this and players caught breaching the rule will be permanently banned from the server. They will also be reported on RustAdminDB, which is a database of Rust server bans available to admins.

When reporting a player, please DO NOT use the in-game chat. Contact admin directly through Discord. This allows admin a chance to go into the game and observe the player without raising their suspicion. When reporting, please provide as much detail as possible, and if you have screenshots or video capture please provide it.

Reports will be investigated, and the player who reported it will be updated once the admin has made a decision.

All new players to the server are checked for previous VAC, game and server bans. VAC bans under 1 year old will result in being refused connection to the server and an auto ban.

Any players with a ban will be flagged and observed, dependant on what the ban was for and how long ago it occurred. Multiple server bans may result in an immediate ban from Rusticle.

Trading

Trading is permitted only through a shopfront/vending machine, or at a safe zone such as Outpost or Bandit Camp main building. Drop trades MUST take place within a safe zone.

Safe Zones are areas that have the Safe Zone tag in the bottom right of the screen only, note some areas at Bandit Camp are not within the Safe Zone.

Vehicle and horse sales are permitted. The normal trading rules do not apply to vehicles and horses, you may trade these any way you wish.

Trading is at your own risk, if you lose your items on the way to or from a trade there is no getting them back.

Base Donations

Donating a base to another player is allowed on the server, providing sleeping bags are removed and tool cupboards, turrets, etc are de-authed beforehand.

If you are donating a base, you must inform admin that it has been donated, the location of the base, and the name of the original owner and the new owner.

This should be done through Discord as a direct message to admin to prevent revealing these details in global game chat.

Admin

An admin's role is to provide help with game bugs or glitches, monitor players to ensure no hacking or exploit usage, manage the server and to enforce the rules.

Admins will not do anything that interferes with gameplay, this includes replacing loot lost due to lag or a game bug, removing items you have placed in error or teleporting you back to your base.

Requests to skip a night, or alter anything that effects the game environment will be ignored.

Admin's on Rusticle are non-playing. That means they may be in-game to monitor play or investigate player reports, but they are not actively taking part. There may be some admin buildings in place, but these will be clearly marked as admin and will be removed if the player base requests it.

When in-game, admins will usually be invisible to players, will be in god mode, and will use no-clip (fly) to move around the map. When visible, admins will be wearing a heavy scientist suit.
